Important Notice:Launch of the China Online Visa Application (COVA) and Appointment for Visa Application Submission (AVAS)

This serves to notify that:

 

In order to provide more standard, orderly service of better quality to the applicants for a China visa, this Embassy will, as of 28th October 2019, launch the China Online Visa Application (COVA) and Appointment for Visa Application Submission (AVAS). Here are the particulars.

 

I. From 28th October 2019, all applicants for a China visa must complete their online visa application forms at https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn. They are requested to print out the confirmation page and application forms then, sign the confirmation page, before bringing all the above, their passports and other supporting documents for submission to this Embassy.

II. From 28th October 2019, all applicants for a China visa must secure their appointments for visa application at https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn.

III. In order to allow some time for the applicants to better understand and get familiarized with the new arrangement, this Embassy has designated the period between 28th October to 27th November 2019 as the transitional period.

During the transitional period, applicants can still use the current hard copy application forms of version 2013 to this Embassy, without any online appointment.

However, please also note that applicants who choose to complete their online visa application forms at https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn during the transitional period must secure their appointments for visa application at https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn.

IV. Starting from 28th November 2019, NO hard copy application forms of version 2013 will be accepted by this Embassy.

All applicants for a China visa must complete their online visa application forms at https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn. They are requested to print out the confirmation page and application forms then, sign the confirmation page, before bringing all the above, their passports and other supporting documents for submission to this Embassy. They must secure their appointments for visa application at https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn.

V. Please note that there are two clauses of exception in the above arrangement:

i. Applicants who apply for the visas to the two Chinese Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau do not need to complete their online visa application forms.

ii. Applicants holding diplomatic/official passports do not need to secure their appointments for visa application.
