The Chinese Government Scholarship of the 2021/2022 Academic Year is Now Open for Application

In order to further strengthen the mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Uganda, and to enrich the contents of the Comprehensive Cooperative Partnership between China and Uganda, following instructions from the Headquarters, the Chinese Embassy in Uganda welcomes citizens of Uganda to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship of the 2021/2022 academic year. 

 

The Chinese Government has been providing scholarships for Ugandan students to study in Chinese higher education institutions since 1980s. The Ministry of Education of China formulates Chinese Government Scholarship, and entrusts the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to handle the enrollment of international students.

 

I. For the 2021/2022 academic year, Chinese Government Scholarship will provide  full Scholarships for Ugandan students who wish to study in China for bachelor, master or doctoral degrees and scholar programs. The Scholarship includes international airfare for the first trip to China and returning trip after completion of study.

 

II. The Chinese Government will also provide Scholarships for Friendship, ONLY open to outstanding postgraduate and doctoral candidates who major in the fields of science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, pedagogy (normal education) and humanities and social sciences such as China research, news and communication. The Scholarship for Friendship will NOT the international airfare mentioned in Category I.

 

The applicants for both Scholarship programs are required to strictly follow the attached guidelines and submit the online application no later than February 9, 2021.

 

N.B. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the applicants awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship of the 2020/2021 academic year haven't been able to study in China. The specific time of departing for China will be informed in due course according to the arrangements of the CSC.
